Welcome to our newly enhanced website! With a few clicks, you’ll see that we’ve been working to make it faster and easier for you to get more of the accurate, real-time traffic information you rely on every day.
With lots of focus groups and feedback from you, our users, we’ve improved services and added some new tools to help you find and avoid traffic. Here’s a rundown of the new features and benefits to watch for as you use the site:
- A location-aware homepage greets you with a real-time traffic summary for your city or most recently viewed city area. It will find your general geographic location based on your IP address and automatically display information in your city area so you can start finding the traffic news you need right away.
- An enhanced easy-to-use interface gives you quick links to site features and content. Improved graphics, styling and site navigation give the website a fresh new look and feel.
- New “Search Traffic” and “Browse Traffic” tabs allow you to easily find the information you need. With our new Search Traffic feature you can type a road, city, zip code, event or point of interest and you’ll see the location on the interactive map and nearby up-to-the-minute traffic information. The Browse Traffic feature is where you’ll find a number of familiar categories with access to lists of Hotspots, Incidents, Construction, Events and Mass Transit for your area. It will also remember the most recent roads you viewed for easy future access.
- One click “Save this Drive” buttons make it fast and easy to personalize your MyTraffic account and then schedule alerts for your drives. You’ll have your very own MyTraffic page where you can view real-time traffic information for your drives.
- New, more detailed maps display color-coded traffic flow and new incident icons pinpoint hotspots. They provide more interactivity, flexibility and control than ever before. You can easily pan and zoom the map and click on the icons for more information. The feature-rich map legend allows you to turn on/off the traffic flow and icon overlays, and provide more tools to interact with the map.
- A real-time news ticker alerts you to severe incidents around your city. The new Traffic News Ticker continuously scrolls real-time, critical traffic information around your city. We’ll keep you informed of major incidents, road closures, mass transit shut downs and Amber alerts.
- A new logo represents the quality and accuracy brought to the site by NAVTEQ, our Company, and a leading global provider of digital map data for location-based solutions and vehicle navigation.
As always, you’ll find familiar traffic planning tools like Check Your Drive Time for traffic-informed alternate routes and driving directions. Your MyTraffic account login/password, saved drives and personal alerts will remain the same. If you haven’t signed up for MyTraffic, do so today for the best way to anticipate what’s on the road ahead!
